Comentar sobre esse grande álbum veio que meio a calhar, já que esses dias tive a infelicidade de ler uma matéria numa revista nacional, onde o autor dizia que Alice Cooper estivera no Brasil afim de promover esse disco. Não é verdade. Em abril de 1974, Alice e sua fenomenal banda, Billion Dollar Babies, se encontravam em tour divulgando o álbum Muscle Of Love, tanto que os integrantes da banda trajavam roupas de marinheiro.
Voltando quase três décadas atrás, Alice Cooper era considerado um dos artistas mais polêmicos do Heavy Rock americano, sendo um dos pioneiros a adicionar num mesmo show performances teatrais ao lado do horror "B", nunca deixando o lado andrógino e político de lado, estilo que veio influenciar por exemplo, King Diamond que preferiu "clonar" o lado mascarado e do Rock Horror show.
O Wasp foi outra banda a se inspirar em diversos aspectos da "titia", enquanto mais recentemente, Marylin Manson deu uma espécie de "renovada", de muito mal gosto diga-se de passagem, onde o lado musical foi totalmente deixado de lado.
Já naquela época, Alice Cooper já havia lançados alguns clássicos como KiIlers e School’s Out, mas foi com Billion Dollar Babies que as coisas tomaram proporções gigantescas, levando Alice ao topo das paradas com uma música de primeira qualidade, sem deixar de causar a polêmica costumeira que só veio aumentar quando o jovem Vincent Fournier (nome verdadeiro), chegou a concorrer as eleições presidenciais onde conseguiu o 47Oº posto, tendo como tema a musica Elected.
A versão original de Billion Dollar Babies trazia ainda uma paródia de uma nota de 1 Dólar (1 Billion), e é claro clássicos definitivos que ainda nos dias de hoje fazem parte do repertório de seus shows como, No More Mr. Nice Guy, I Love The Dead, Billion Dollar Babies, que hoje em dia é dedicada por Alice a "fedelha" Britney Spears e a própria Elected. A produção do álbum ficou por conta do ainda "emergente" no ramo, Bob Ezrin.
